| About Jurjen Drenth |
Jurjen Drenth (Groningen, 1955) is one of Hollands leading photographers, known for his natural style, his 'pure light' and his gentle compositions. He taught photography at the Royal Academy of Art & Photography in The Hague. His colleague photographers admire both the quantity and quality of his work and his ability to always be in the right place at the right time. Because of this, Drenth has an enormous portfolio, featuring the largest Dutch collection available and many, many international images.

| Drenths work has been published widely in international magazines such as National Geographic [NL], Belle Europa, Vie Del Mondo, El Pais, Globo, Notre Temps, Geo Saisons, Stern and Merian. Dutch magazines such as De Kampioen, Reizen (both published by ANWB Dutch AA) Grasduinen and Plus also publish his work. His images are frequently used by companies such as NS (Dutch railways), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (Holland Calendars), KPN Royal Telecom, major Dutch advertising agencies and several Graphic Design Studios. In 1998, Readers Digest published a book on his Dutch works. Several books containing his photographs are currently in production. |
Drenths motivation - maybe mission is a better description considering his huge production - is to cover the rapidly changing Dutch landscape in the greatest possible detail. From great outdoor shots to simple shots of someones kitchen table. His aim is to reflect the 'soul of each location.
